What PortPal stores

A summary. The Privacy Policy governs.

Information we keep

  • Account and union information, including your name, email address, union local and dispatch board.
  • The work and pay records you enter, including any leave. We do not request or retain medical information.
  • Documents you upload, such as dispatch slips and pay statements, and the information derived from them.
  • Your goals, preferences, feedback and conversations with the in-app assistant. Spoken conversations are kept in written form only; we do not retain voice recordings.
  • If you arrive through a shared link, a single word recording the general channel is kept in a cookie for up to 30 days.

Disclosure

We do not sell personal information and do not use it for advertising. We do not disclose it to your employer or your union. Service providers process it on our behalf only to provide the Services. Pay statements are not shared with third-party artificial intelligence providers. Other artificial intelligence providers may keep it for a limited period to watch for misuse and may not use it to train their models.

Referrals

If you ask to be contacted by a partner, for example about your finances, we send them your contact details and what you asked about, and only then.

Storage

Personal information is stored and processed in the United States. We maintain backup copies of uploaded files in secure backup storage.

Deleting your account

In the app, open Account and choose Delete my account. Deletion takes effect immediately. You may also email ethan@buildlaunchiterate.ca from the address associated with your account, and we will complete the request within 30 days. That removes your account and profile information, the work and pay records you created, your goals and preferences, your feedback, the documents you uploaded and the information derived from them, your conversations with the in-app assistant (typed and spoken), and your login, all from the app. The backup copy of your uploaded files is kept. Records the law requires us to retain may also be kept.
